Happy New Year My life's Theme Song

My Life’s Theme Song

My life’s theme song
as life goes on,
I learn how to master the art of holding on.
Yearning for the essence of being strong,
sometimes dreams do crash and burn.
Although through failure
Life is a lessen we learn.
Everything is based on a try,
quitting only makes your dreams die.
The errors and trials
from frowns to smiles.
While all walks of life
are educational as life begins
 but never ends.
Although with experience in life,
You know you cannot replay the scene,
unless it is déjà vu
or you
re live your dreams that have come true.

Holiday Rhyme

Holiday Rhyme

Oh, with great cheer,
the holiday season is here,
so let us be thankful we are still here.
take time out and light a candle
For the problems we cannot handle.
Let his praise ring,
Joy to the King,
Pray for all the Tiny Tims,
Sing a  hymn,
Teach your kids the real reason,

and the meaning for the season.

For my Grandma 90 years of life and on

90 Years of Life

To live 90 years
you have enjoyed life
                        with love  and laughs.
To live 90 years
you have endured pain
 heart ache and tears.
Within those 90 years,
you have seen many things
and you have dreamed
 so many themes.
Being a mother
a grandmother
and a great grandmother,
makes you the family matriarch
with love flowing from your heart.
You are our one and only Madea
through God you gave birth to an idea
then you nursed it into dream
then you raised it into a theme
which is a family.
You built the foundation to the blueprint of our family tree
so for you to live to be 90
is statement to you with much respect.
For good times with you we all collect
but only you can see through the eyes of retrospect
your heart and soul
but only God knows
how your life goes.
But as the seeds of your family tree
continue to grow
from 90 years ago
to 90 years from now and beyond
its because of God and You.
Which is the reason why we are all here
Madea.
So to live 90 years is a blessing
but for most of all to live 90 years
Is a lesson
 we can all learn.
but 90 years of life to you is well earned.
Love from your grandson COLEY.

As We Pass

As We Pass

Life comes at you fast,
As the sands fall in the hour glass,
Through this existence we pass,
There are many among us,
That have no one to trust,
Many among us,
Strong,
Know that life goes on,
Still we know,
That life means so much more,
And is never a chore,
Because God’s blessings
Are always in store.

To Know Or Not Know indifference

To Know or Not Know Indifference

Is there a difference
Between intelligence
And flat out blatant arrogance?
Is there a difference
Between pride and militancy?

Based on circumstances,
Striving to advance,
Life comes at all angles
Life’s thieves agree,
And cause disbelief,
These are the opposition
That cause you to tangle,
That can put a grip on you
Like a strangle,
Sometimes the best form of intelligence
Is to admit slight thoughts of ignorance.

How Proud I Am To be an African American

HOW PROUD I AM TO BE AN AFRICAN AMERICAN

The African American race has been through a great deal over the past 400 years.  From slavery to an African American president, the African American race has overcome a lot.   Due to evil the process of segregation and poverty, there are still problems of racism today.  So we still have a lot more to endure as a race. Although there are many things we can feel proud of, such as, an African American president, more opportunities than ever before, and the resurgence of our history, with these elements we can achieve much more as a race.
With an African American president we can inspire our youth to get involved in politics on the local level. This will help people to be aware of the issues.  In the past nobody would have voted because no one black was running for office. Also another reason why an African American president is so important to the African American race is that by becoming president, he showed that you can overcome all odds and still be highly successful..  So the president inspires us in our everyday walks of life giving us joy and hope.
Today in America African Americans have more opportunities than ever before.  When it comes to attending college many universities give grants and scholarships to African American students. Also there are opportunities opening up through different organizations to help students find jobs after college.  Even though we are in a recession and jobs are hard to find, there are still many more opportunities available than before.  Due to the struggle of the African American race we have fought for better opportunities to come.  The time has come when there are advantages to being an African American, and one of them is that you can receive a scholarship based on the color of your skin and your G.PA. There are situations like this which will help our youth develop into future leaders of the African American race. The resurgence of African American history has also inspired many people. Our history has always been a mystery, but now many African Americans want to know their roots.  There are many proud people who have a great deal of pride which helps develop the African American race   By learning our history and encouraging the youth to do the same, we will instill pride into our race.
Throughout this process the African American church has been monumental in making and preserving our history.  From the early days of the civil rights movement to now, the church has played a tremendous part.  Due to this, much history was made, and so much more is being made.  So the African American church can be seen not just as a pillar of the community but also as s foundation of African American history.
It is good to be an African American today. We have overcome many struggles and obstacles, yet we still have much more to overcome.  For the most part we have stayed strong even through faulty leadership, black on black crime, and most of all racism. When it comes to racism for African Americans, we are our own worst enemies.  Despite this it is still great to be an African American today.  Although we have come a long way, we still have a long way to go. If we focus on change for the better and the positives, we can achieve much more.

Its Not Right

Its Not Right

It’s not right
nothing is the way it used to be.
They say freedom is not free,
but is death
for death
a real liberty.
The insanity ,
of humanity
lies with in Guns and bombs
killing fathers and sons.
Leaving mothers and wives,
with shattered lives.
Destruction and chaos,
illustrating a world lost.
While politicians lie,
so many men die
in the hands of combat,
or never comeback.
Or if they do,
they are someone new.
Although they are forever changed,
people who are not grateful look at them strange.
So is freedom not free?
Not to me,
I guess that is sad to be true,
but in context they lie to you.
Yet if a man is to die for his country,
it is seen as a act of valor.
But when war is fought over dollars
is that right,
not in my eyesight.
And not at the blood spilled scenes at hindsight,
                                                                    But to have peace,
without blood shed
Is right.
But blood for blood,
is a soldier’s plight,
still to me its not right.

Redemption In Dreams

Redemption in Dreams

Many lives have the same occurring theme,
fallen victims of broken dreams.
Their lives fall apart,
and they are lost in the dark
So cold turns their heart,
with life being so turbulent
They indulge in being violent.
Leading to a crash course in fatality,
as a result of being menaces of society.
They embrace the cruelness of reality,
but only through a spark of prayer,
care, and love
does
one thing
Help these lost souls seek redemption
 in their shattered dreams.

To Change Someone's World

To Change Someone’s World

To change someone’s world,
you must first find your voice.
Because life is about choices,
through career development
you can better the establishment.
To make this world a better place for you and I.
Because if you have a dream you can reach for the sky.

Your voice being your career,
can steer
you clear.
To a brighter path,
to bring smiles and laughs,
to many people who call on your behalf.
Making a difference in their lives,
Just because you chose a career and you tried.

A Song Of Prayer

A Song of   Prayer

Oh Lord forgive me
And set me free
Lead me out of modern day captivity
A slave to sin I lost my freedom
I await your kingdom to come
Oh lord do you hear me
Lord please save me
Oh Lord set my soul free

I invite you in my heart
I share with you my art
At night I sing the blues
While I pay my dues
Dealing with my worldly issues
So I give you praise
For blessing me these days
 Lord please save me
Oh Lord set my soul free

Oh my lord forgive the ones who do not know
We got so far to go
Oh Lord help us grow
Let your blessings flow
My heart hurts with heavy ache
Lord for Jesus sake
Your lessons let me seriously take
Lord please save me
Oh Lord set my soul free

Oh God with tears I know
You really love me so
I will always follow you
 and try to be true
My heart I have rededicated to you
I dry my eyes
And ignore the devil’s lies
Lord please save me
Oh Lord set my soul free

In These Streets

In these streets

Never a moment to cease
in these streets.
There will never be peace
and the drama won’t cease.
Life changes by the second
by the winds of change we reckon.
We die with ours dreams
sometimes with  them never being reached.
Nevertheless patience is virtue often not preached,
so many with history are not reached.
So in life who is to teach?
When our hero has fallen,
and the angels have called
then a dream dies,
and a soul is to fly.

A Ferris Wheel of Life

My life is a Ferris  wheel
Up down round and round
I go
While my ole lady running around all over town

Oh the pain is driving me insane
Many times I tried to put it down
But the bottle I just can not let go
So in my tears of sorrow I drown

My woman done left me
So I am crying myself to sleep
She broke my heart
Oh how the heart ache lingers deep

So I try to drink my troubles away
However, I need an angel of prayer
My days go by and I cry
Oh if only she would care

Because the pain I can no longer bear

So Blind For You

So Blind For You

There is an ocean inside my mind
I can’t see because I’m blind,
My heart has been stolen,
That I try to find,
Oh, weary I am,
But not too sorry not to try,
As my heart cries,
For your love for me I cannot deny.

First post of the new year : A Poem called Africa the Rise and Fall

Africa the Rise and Fall

A land that they robbed naked
An ancient and a dark rich land that was sacred
A land that was black as night
Where many men were kings that ruled with might
A long time ago
Back when the bongo
Would talk to you
Many men and women said I do
Without jumping over the broom stick too
A black man
Was a African
And he was a king
Beside his queen
They lived in harmony
With much peace and tranquility
The people where full of color
Many brothers
And sisters
The tribes had many vibes
To go inside
The heart and pride
Of these nations history books can not describe
This was before there were scribes
But they were bookkeepers
Architects, doctors,
Astrologist
And inventors
But one day at the age of error
Came the terror
The white man
He brought with him shackles and chains
To enslave and behave their brains
He also brought bibles
And riffles
What can you do with a spear?
When they have a gun over there
So there was war
Some nations joined forces to even the score
Some joined in the slave trade
To get paid
We where loaded on ships like the ship Jesus
When we where sold for few gold pieces
Selling out each other
That is part of reason why we will kill another
Even when its our brother
Of the same color
