Hip Hop Blues
I am paying my dues,
To write these hip
hop blues.
I study Langston
Hughes,
But walk in my own
shoes.
I represent Alabama,
Where they are known
for the yellow hammer.
I spit this southern
grammar.
In this state they
cut back education,
And preach racial
segregation.
I strive to live,
And help, and give
In a positive way.
I pray for Alabama
today,
That one day we can
have peace
In the streets,
Because black on
black crime
Has me losing my
mind.
